We delivered an intensive training on Sign Language Rights in Delhi, India, bringing together more than 30 deaf participants from across different regions of the country.

Led by Susana Stiglich, WFD Sign Language Rights Officer, the five-day workshop combined theory and practice to deepen understanding of sign language rights within international frameworks such as the CRPD, while critically analysing the current situation in India.
Participants explored key issues around legislation, policy implementation, and advocacy, and developed practical tools to drive change at national level. The training also created a valuable space for exchange, collaboration, and strengthening networks among deaf leaders committed to advancing linguistic rights.

This initiative supports concrete, long-term action to promote the recognition and full inclusion of sign languages in India.
