Dr Joseph Murray delivered a presentation entitled “Deaf Culture is a Human Right” in the Clin d’Oeil Festival in France. He highlighted the importance of recognising deaf culture as an integral part of the human rights of deaf people. His presentation explored how deaf culture, sign languages, and deaf communities contribute to identity, inclusion, and the full participation of deaf people in society.

In addition to his conference, the WFD President addressed participants during the festival’s ceremony, where he welcomed the opportunity to celebrate the richness and diversity of deaf culture through one of the world’s largest international deaf arts festivals.

The WFD thanks the organisers of the Clin d’Oeil Festival for the invitation and for their continued commitment to promoting deaf culture, sign languages, and the artistic contributions of deaf people from around the world.
