The WFD has set up the members of its Expert Groups. The purpose of these groups is to act as an advisory body of experts. 6 groups of experts have been set up:
- Human rights
- Education
- Sign language and Deaf Studies
- Disaster risk reduction
- Access to health and mental health
- Accessibility (technology and sign language interpretation)
