The World Federation of the Deaf has sent a letter to the World Health Organisation (WHO), noting their obligation to ensure International Sign access to their public video briefings and COVID-19 public health videos to the international community. The WFD also calls on the WHO to disseminate guidance to national health authorities to make their COVID-19 materials accessible via that country’s national sign language(s). Because it is our need and our right to have access in our sign language(s) during this pandemic.
In the spirit of solidarity, the WFD stands ready to assist the WHO with guidance and best practices during this pandemic.
