The 112^th Board Meeting of the WFD will be hosted by the Japanese Federation of the Deaf (JFD) from 29 May to 2 June 2017 in Fukuoka, Japan.

In conjunction with the board meetings, the WFD is honoured to attend the following local events:

     3 June 2017              68^th General Assembly of the JFD
4 June 2017              65^th JFD National Congress and the 70^th Anniversary of the JFD

While the WFD Board meetings are important for the board members to officially meet and make important decisions, it enables the WFD to strengthen its partnerships with the host member and learn about the human rights situation of the local Deaf Community. Throughout the WFD’s visit in Japan, its main agenda is to interact with the local Deaf Community and share human rights knowledge particularly on recognition and legislation of sign language and accessibility.

Upon conclusion of the board meetings, the WFD is also pleased to deliver presentations to the local Deaf Community in different cities of Japan including Kyoto, Tokyo and Sapporo.
