The WFD Board is delighted to announce the approval of 136th Ordinary Member, the Deaf Association of Korea from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK). This is a significant achievement after collaboration for several years, starting already during the term of previous WFD President Dr Markku Jokinen. WFD delegations including myself have visited the DPRK to support the Deaf Community there to become aware of their right to education and language, and to empower deaf youth with emphasis on deaf leadership.
