The WFD Board is happy to announce the appointment of two external legal advisors who will work as co-opted members in the Legal Committee of the WFD. With an extensive legal background and deep understanding of working with the Deaf Community, Mr Brett Casey, Australia and Mr Howard Rosenblum, USA, will be able to provide expert advice and support to the WFD and WFDYS Boards and Secretariat in legal issues.

Organisation’s previous legal advisor, Mr Alastair McEwin, stepped down from his role when he was appointed as Australian Disability Discrimination Commissioner in August 2016. Legal advisors will work together with other members of the Legal Committee, composed of WFD and WFDYS Board members and staff representative, mostly via video calls and emails. Position is a non-paid function. The WFD looks forward to co-operation with both Brett and Howard.
