The CRPD Committee held its Constructive Dialogue with the Azerbaijan government today. As part of this dialouge, CRPD Committee member Mr Munthian Buntan asked the government of Azerbaijan for information on the recognition of Azerbaijani Sign Language and the provision of interpreting services. The WFD is proud of the work of the Deaf member of the Azerbaijani DPO delegation, Mr Kamran Abasov, in bringing this issue before the Committee. The WFD is continuing work with the Azerbaijani deaf community and Mr Buntan to ensure this issued is followed up upon in the Committee’s Concluding Observations.
