The International Disability Alliance is seeking an Executive Director

The International Disability Alliance (IDA) is a network of global and regional organisations of persons with disabilities. Its mission is to promote the full and effective implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD). IDA is committed to non-discrimination on all grounds. The applications of persons with disabilities are especially welcome.

IDA is seeking a qualified professional to the function of Executive Director for the daily management and the administration of its assets, who will be based in the New York office. Travel between the Secretariat offices of New York and Geneva will be required.

The ideal candidate is committed to the human rights of persons with disabilities. Candidates will have at least ten years experience in the field of the rights of persons with disabilities, including at least two years experience within the UN system (either New York or Geneva) and in executive/managerial experience in a non-governmental organisation/ organisation of persons with disabilities.

Ability to work effectively in English is a prerequisite. Knowledge of another language is an asset.

IDA especially welcomes applications from persons with disabilities.

Gross starting salary: Commensurate with experience of the candidate.

Contract: Indefinite (with a 6 months’ probation period)
